Toy Dog Safety
With Toy Breeds safety is a major concern. They are very delicate in body structure and can be hurt very easily.
Kids and Toy Dogs although children don't intentionally want to hurt the little dog they can. Lifting and carrying the puppy or dog can cause a fall, that even from 3 feet high can cause injury. Kids are quick and love to run, unfortunately they can trip or step on a little dog causing injury.
Lifting & Dropping It happens, a little dog in its owners arms can jump out and cause injury even death.
Furniture Little dogs lounge on furniture all the time but they can cause injury both jumping up or jumping off furniture.
Outdoors Tiny dogs can dehydrate quickly in the heat, always monitor your little dog. They can become prey to other animals (hawks have been known to attack), other dogs (if that dog confuses your little one for a squeeky toy) and the human predetor (so many tiny dogs are dognapped). Always supervise your little one even in your own back yard.
